Zillow App. The reason I love this app is that its real estate agent reviews are built right in. You can sort real estate agents by location, number of reviews and experience in the type of real estate you’re looking for (residential, commercial or other). Of course, the Zillow app is also useful for browsing homes for sale in your area to compare prices, or for staying on top of new listings. Just remember that Zestimates are not always accurate (mostly not accurate), so talk to your real estate agent when you see something that catches your eye! Free for for Android and iOS.

Mortgage calculator app. Want to estimate your monthly mortgage payments, with principal and interest components clearly defined? Curious about how property taxes, PMI, homeowner’s insurance and HOA fees factor in? These apps allow you to punch in the home cost, down payment and interest and instantly get back the numbers you need to estimate your buying power. Essential in this fast-paced Portland real estate market! For Android us U.S. Mortgage Calculator, for iOS we like the Mortgage Calculator by Left Coast R&D. Both are free.

Measurement app. Will your prized vanity fit in the bedroom? What were the dimensions on that window that needs repair? This app allows you to note dimensions and measurements directly in photos you take with your smartphone. Just save, print or share your photos, notes and dimensions using this app. IMAGinE Measures is free for Android; Photo Measures performs the same function on iOS for $7.

SignEasy. The best thing about the digital age is that most of the paperwork involved in a real estate transaction can now be handled digitally. This app lets you download pdfs, sign them, and send them back with the touch of a button. For $5, you can use the app for 10 documents. Not only is it easier, you’ll save yourself time and speed up the whole home buying or selling process — a nice advantage in this fast-paced market! Available for Android and iOS.
