Number 1 Listing Agent in Portland Oregon

January 30, 2018

We did it again! For 2 years running, we sold more listings in the Portland metro tri-county (Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas Counties) area than any other. There are roughly 8,800 Realtors in this same tri-county area. These listing sales numbers come directly from our local MLS, RMLS. How to choose a top real estate agent? There are many ways to determine who the best real estate agent is for you, but most will agree the top factors are: overall experience, sales record, and verified customer reviews. I’ll throw in one more, a real estate agent that doesn’t use his success record to charge top commission rates. I’ve kept my rates at a reasonable 4.5% commission max. Top Reviewed Real Estate...

Proud Member of Portland’s Masters Circle of Realtors

December 27, 2017

PMAR (Portland Metro Association of Realtors) is the largest Realtor association in Oregon (as you might imagine). PMAR is the 30th largest Realtor association in the United States with over 7,800 members. They give out sales awards to Realtors in good standing with the Portland Metro Association of Realtors. These awards are called, Masters Circle, and have various levels to them. Masters Circle Award 2018-2014 I have applied for and earned the highest award the Masters Circle gives out, Diamond-Platinum. I’ve asked them when I should expect to receive my diamonds in the mail, but haven’t gotten a response yet (I think the Diamonds are symbolic!). Either way, I’m proud to accept this sales and good standing designation from the...

Real Estate Teams vs. Solo Agents

October 20, 2017

In my opinion, everything’s better when I’m on a team — whether I’m completing a project, playing sports, or working as a real estate agent. Years back I never heard about a real estate agent seller’s team or buyer’s team. You typically had individual agents, top producers or otherwise, who would run their own business solo or perhaps with their spouse. The Realty firm would typically supply office space, insurance, branding, and then that solo agent would go out into the world representing both buyers and sellers. This is the way I started my real estate career as well. Now real estate agent teams have a big presence in Realty firms across the country (my team is with eXp Realty)....

The Code of Ethics for Realtors in Portland

July 17, 2017

Realtors are schooled heavily on the code of ethics, but most buyers and sellers don’t become aware of The Code unless they feel there is a situation in which their agent has acted unethically. The REALTOR® Code of Ethics is a lengthy (eight pages as of 2017) document detailing all of a licensed real estate agent’s responsibilities and obligations. It describes a Realtor’s duties to their clients, to the public, and to other Realtors. It’s a good document to read before hiring a real estate agent in Portland (or anywhere) to represent you in buying or selling a home. Before we dive into what the REALTOR® Code of Ethics prescribes, it’s important to make a distinction between Realtors and real...
