Who is Homelight.com?

Homelight as a company, matches home buyers and sellers to real estate agents (the real estate agents pay Homelight a significant fee). In order to match well, Homelight collects and analyses a ton of data. For example, they can tell if a seller’s agent sells a lot of condos verses regular detached homes (we sell a ton of both). They can tell how well the agent did in negotiations on the sell side, what the home sold for verse what it was initially listed for. In the above ranking, I’m proudest of the top 1% negotiators ranking because that means we are not only selling at a high level, we are going to bat for our clients to get them the best possible price for their home.

How do I pick the best real estate agent?

Of course if you are in our area, we’d love it if you contacted us directly, but if you are not in our area (and we serve SW Washington and most of central northern Oregon minus the coast) Homelight might be a good service for you to use to find a real estate agent, due to their extensive research and data collection before making a match. Whenever a client asks me for a referral in a small town in South Carolina, or somewhere I do not already have a connection, I typically recommend they look for an agent on Zillow first (use their agent finder and put in a zip code) and if that doesn’t produce great results, try Homelight. Zillow, I believe should be your first stop as it also contains the real estate agent’s sales record, it contains verified client reviews (Homelight has agent reviews but they are not verified), and Zillow gives your hyperlocal data on that real estate agent. Plus Zillow does not charge you or the real estate agent for the match, so no additional cost is added to your next transaction.

How did we get to be number one in Portland?

For sellers, we have a pay less and get more model, where we charge a max. of 4.5% commission but pay more to market our client’s homes online so they sell faster and for more. We top it off with a cancel anytime policy for no charge. We are a full service operation with a strong customer service focus.
