Choosing a Buyers Agent

When looking for a buyer’s agent ask yourself two important questions.

1. How experienced is the buyers agent? Will they be a strong negotiator on my behalf? Will they know what home hazards to look out for? Can they advise me on what homes to skip?

2. Will the buyers agent have time to show me what I want, when I want?

The biggest problem in the industry is answering, “yes,” to both of those questions. If you meet an experienced buyers agent, they don’t have enough time to help you tour and it is essential to see hot homes the moment they hit the market. If meet with an inexperienced buyers agent, they’ll have all the time in the world to show you homes, but honestly, you don’t want them negotiating a deal on your behalf.

That is why Kami Price leads a small team of dedicated buyers agents. She is our lead buyers agent and conducts all the negotiations on your behalf. But she has multiple buyers agents on her team ready to show you any home, any day. This way our home buying clients get the time they need and top-tier negotiations that can only come from an experienced agent who has closed hundreds of sales.

Check out our article, Realtor, Agent, Broker – What’s the Difference? Now a buyer’s agent is common vernacular for a real estate agent who focuses...

Be sure to read any real estate agreement in full before signing and we already recommend consulting a lawyer for legal advice. Ten Signs You Hired the Wrong Buyers Agent

November 9, 2016

The Portland real estate market is tough! Your buyer’s agent has the power to make – or break – the deal when you’re buying a home. Loan officers can stall it, sellers can change their mind, but the buyer’s agent is the one who is there with you from start to finish, and their ability to perform is a crucial ingredient in getting you into the home of your dreams. Ten signs you hired the wrong buyer’s agent: 1. They don’t know how to negotiate well on your behalf. Multiple offer situations are the norm in Portland, particularly in the spring and summer months. Looking to find that next Portland home? There are thousands of real estate agents to choose from. Out of those thousands, you’ll find a few individual agents that specialize in helping buyers and even a few teams that specialize in helping buyers. Why choose a team over an individual?
